Background:
Today, I am in fully in my Interior Styling Era, but that wasnāt always the case. Sometimes I cannot believe that there was ever an era before this. Yet, deep down - creating and designing has always been an integral part of who I am and it is of no surprise that the winding path of life has led me to this point.
Before fully stepping into Interior Styling, my career evolved through several chapters ā each rooted in organization, and a deep understanding of people. Every role focused on creating spaces; spaces to learn and grow, spaces to collaborate, and spaces to celebrate life with the ones we love most.
-
Initially, I was a NYS Certified Health Education Teacher and received a Masters Degree in School & Community Health Education. After an unfortunate cut to the district budget, I lost my position as a High School Health Ed. Teacher. In an effort to support my Husband through Medical School, I transitioned, as he did for a number of years,
During this time, I was fortunate to find meaningful employment in a variety of capacities. From working on grant-based projects for the University of Rochester - to managing events for Root Catering and eventually assisting in the opening of their sister company, Kin Event Space. I even did a temporary stint at the Rochester Museum & Science Center Preschool teaching 4 year olds and subsequently assisted in their reopening and rebranding after an abrupt closure.
The roles I held were meaningful and introduced me to a variety of new skills. To this day, I remain deeply passionate about these fields, the people I worked with and the impact I made.
Despite feeling as though I was inching towards finding my true passion with each role - something was still missing. I found myself feeling like the most authentic version of myself when I was creating for myself and for others. I painted, I quilted, I curated interior spaces. It all felt so genuinely ārightā.
-
A new home purchase and a new kitchen later, (thank you Bryce & Doyle) I was tipping my toe into the waters and exploring the field of interiors. It was like someone had turned on a switch and I could see everything so clearly - this is what I was meant to do.
Evidently, the passion that project ignited was visible to those around me. Shortly after completing the kitchen renovation, I was fortunate enough to be hired by Bryce & Doyle. I spent my days assisting with concept development and making selections for final designs. My experience was a crash course into renovations and home designs and I was hooked.
What began organically soon grew faster than I ever anticipated. While continuing my role at Bryce & Doyle, I began receiving inquiries from clients looking for help with their own homes. Before long, I realized I could no longer balance both paths and made the decision to pursue working with homeowners independently.
In many ways, this business feels less like something I set out to build and more like something I naturally grew into. I feel incredibly fortunate to do work that feels meaningful, creative, and deeply personal ā and I would love the opportunity to help you create a home that reflects your story in this next chapter of mine.
While I may no longer work for the employers noted above, I will always support them.
From lavish events to vital health programming - these local businesses and organizations not only provide jobs and opportunities in our community - they help to create an environment where we can celebrate, flourish and thrive.
Because at the end of the day, our community is our home.
